With the ever growing restaurant, bar and events scene in Detroit, I recently spent a little time in the Eastern Market area. If you think Detroit is a dangerous, run down city that’s got nothing to offer, you have not been to Detroit in the last 5 or so years!

When we visiting, it was early on a Saturday, a light tasting before dinner. The place wasn’t busy at all, but as we left it started to fill up.
This steampunk looking device was located in the back area, as this is the tasting room I am guessing it’s just for a small batch. The larger distillery is located on Maple Road in Detroit.
. probably my favorite by far!!
Like the menu says, toast the revival! There is some interesting info on the Detroit Distillery website, all local grown ingredients. One of the owners even planted the pine trees that are used in their gin.
The service was awesome, people working here looked like they were having fun at their jobs and also very knowledgeable about their offerings. If you are thinking about visiting Detroit, make this area one of your stops! I am surely going back to Detroit City Distillery and will be taking other friends who are in town visiting!
